How to Plant Your New Chestnut Seeds

Site in a sunny place. They enjoy hillsides and places with well-draining soils.

Dig a small hole approximately 2" deep.

Place a seed in the hole.

Cover your seed with soil.

Cover with mulch layer 3" thick. Use fine material like sawdust or leaf mould.

Water.

Repeat these steps for as many seeds as you have to plant.

They will go dormant over winter and resume their growth next spring.
